As I have mentioned elsewhere on this site, I was born in the United States and lived there for the first 34 years of my life, excluding 2 years that I lived in Helsinki, Finland when I was around 7 or 8 years old. I now live in Sweden. My mother was Swedish and my father is Finnish, so my ancestors are from Sweden and Finland.

I began researching my Finnish ancestry in the mid 1990's with my fathers help, and at that point we focused on my fathers mothers ancestry. I later continued by researching the Jokelainen name, and some of that information can be found linked below.

Right now I am concentrating more on my mothers side of the family, which is made easier by the fact that I now live in Sweden. The family tree link below includes ancestors on both my fathers and mothers side.
